My Veil is Here!
January 31, 2008
It arrived all wrapped up in this box, with an ivory bow tied around it. It’s harder than one would think to take a self portrait of a veil, and we don’t have a full length mirror (ridiculous, I know) so my options were limited. The few I tried to take over my head were down right frightening, so here are one of the veil alone and another of just the bottom:
I highly reccommend veilshop.com if you’re interested in something basic and don’t want to spend a fortune. The fabric swatches they sent were very easy to match to the dress, the veil looked exactly how I was hoping it would, and the shipping was incredibly fast. Wearing a veil was never really important to me & at the beginning of this process I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to have one at all. So even though I changed my mind I didn’t want something that was going to be overly fussy & I have no intentions of this becoming a family heirloom. I just wanted something simple, and this fits the bill!

oooh! I want to see it on! What a fun arrival.
I’ll attempt some better pics this weekend – damn self portraits!
I just ordered a veil from Veilshop.com also, hopefully I will have the same luck! Thanks for the advice – I ordered samples like you did and one matched perfectly. I feel the same way about veils, it’s not that big of a deal to me and I wanted something simple. Thanks!!
this is great news! yay!
woo hoo! My first fitting is tomorrow and I’m so excited!
