Inspiration for your road to the altar

I am really in the mood for some warm weather relaxation, so when JasonG sent this Mexico wedding my way I was instantly digging the bright colors and the island vibe! Nicole and Mike were married at the Ocean Coral and Turquesa Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico just last month. Nicole’s chose the perfect beach ready wedding dress (in my humble opinion) and I love her combination of blue, orange and pink. Julie of Classic Creations helped the couple pull the event together, even going as far as packing a suitcase full of linens to pull the reception together!

Don’t the shots of the bride and groom on the beach make you want to hop a plane to an island? Or is that just me? You can see more images and read more details on JasonG’s blog.

I am so excited to bring you this lovely outdoor wedding from Cape Town, South Africa! The talented team behind Wedding Concepts sent it my way and let’s face facts, I am a complete sucker for anything that involves outdoor chandeliers. Wedding Concepts is clearly a talented bunch and they specialize in “designer” destination weddings…how fabulous would it be to get married in Cape Town? Erin & Scott certainly thought so and their guests traveled from Scotland and the UK to celebrate with them.

The ceremony and reception took place in the Paarl Winelands, and the couple wanted to do their best to honor their heritage. The men dressed in the traditional family kilts and a Scottish bag-piper provided the music for Erin to walk down the aisle. The details on the vanilla tiered cake from Kanya Hunt are so lovely, and the picture of the groomsmen towards the end of the post is hysterical! I think this certainly marks the first time there have been “censored” banners on With This Ring. And last but most certainly not least, Jean-Pierre Uys is the talented photographer behind all of these gorgeous images. Enjoy!

Ice Lanterns

January 19, 2010

These ice lanterns from Sweet Paul are completely genius! They look lovely and are really inexpensive to make, a perfect DIY project for a winter wedding. They can be filled with a variety of greenery and berries – easily customized to any palette. You can see the full (simple) instructions on Design*Sponge. I just love these!
